Today's Oishiy recipe is ''Mashed and Strained Sweet Red Beans Paste''. This
is one of the most common ingredients for making Japanese sweets. Most popular sweet filling made in Japan are with this sweet red beans. And this is popular omiyage (gift) here in Japan.
---INGREDIENTS---
Red Beans 250g
Baking Soda 0.5g
Sugar 150g
Water 2.1Liter
---PROCEDURE---
1.In a pot, put beans, 600ml water and boil until bubbles appear, then drain water.
2.In pressure cooker, put boiled beans, baking soda, 1.5liter of water then cook for about 25 minutes.
3.For Strained Sweet Red Beans paste, put cooked beans to a fine strainer and press cooked beans until skin seperate to beans and become smooth.
4.In a pan with low heat, put strained beans, 50g sugar and mix continuously until sugar dissolved and beans become paste and it's done.
5.For Mashed Sweet Red Beans, in a pan with low heat, put cooked beans mash it very well.
6.Then add sugar, continuously mix until you achieve smooth mashed beans paste, and it's done.
